Question Title

* 9. Volunteer attorneys with under two years of LLC formation experience are strongly encouraged to review a free CLE on basic LLC formation, held by Susan Felstiner, the SBLC’s Clinical Professor. In light of COVID-19, the CLE will not be held in person. Rather, days before our clinic, we will share a link to an audio or video file of the CLE.

We are applying for 1.5 hours of Practical Skills OSB MCLE credits. Are you interested in this free CLE on basic LLC formation?

Question Title

* 10. Volunteer attorneys with ample LLC formation experience may serve as “backup” volunteer attorneys. Each “backup” volunteer attorney will be available to (1) answer questions about LLC formation posed by our “regular” volunteer attorneys; and (2) take on a client or two if our “regular” volunteer attorneys are unavailable.

In light of COVID-19, our "regular" volunteer attorneys will receive the contact information of our "backup" volunteer attorneys, who will answer questions about LLC formation remotely throughout May. Would you like to serve as a “backup” volunteer attorney?

Question Title

* 11. Volunteer attorneys will meet with clients in 55-minute sessions via Zoom, but they might not complete all of their work within that time. Any remaining work may be completed at some later date, to be decided by the volunteer attorneys and clients.

The estimated time commitment is around four to ten hours per client, depending on the experience of the volunteer attorney, the number of LLC members and the complexity of the operating agreement. Volunteer attorneys who are low on time or who lack ample experience with LLC formation may choose to represent a client regarding the formation of a single-member LLC. How many clients would you like to represent?

Question Title

* 12. What kind(s) of LLCs would you like to handle?

Question Title

* 13. Please check any/all times when you can meet with a client on Thursday, April 30, during our event. In light of COVID-19, we are holding all attorney-client meetings remotely over Zoom instead of in person at the SBLC.

Question Title

* 14. Volunteer attorneys may wish to attend a free CLE named Building Trust Across Difference; Racial Realities and How They Impact the Attorney-Client Relationship. The CLE will be presented by Julieanna Elegant, the SBLC's Executive Director, on Thursday, May 7th from 1:30-4:45 p.m.

The CLE will take place in Room 433 of the Board of Trade Building (310 SW Fourth Ave., Portland, OR 97204). The SBLC will apply for 3 Access to Justice OSB MCLE credits. Would you like to register for this free CLE about race and attorney-client relationships?

In light of COVID-19, we may share links to an audio or video file of the CLE instead of holding it live.

Question Title

* 15. In light of COVID-19, we will no longer have law students shadow volunteer attorneys. Rather, we plan to introduce volunteer attorneys and students of Lewis & Clark Law School over email in May. Volunteer attorneys and law students can then connect one-on-one using a platform of their choice, on a date of their choice. Would you like to be introduced to a law student?
