Dear Law Enforcement Spouses and LE Community ...
I am a chaplain with the Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (PCLEC) and work professionally as a clinical psychologist. In these roles, I see the numerous, unique, stressful challenges faced by LEOs and realize the potential impact of this demanding work on family, spouses and marriage, which can be very significant.
This issue has not gone unnoticed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), an organization which provides education, support and resources for LE leaders.

This issue has not gone unnoticed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), an organization which provides education, support and resources for LE leaders.
IACP's educational outreach includes a session on LE Marriage at next month's annual conference, entitled "No More Victims - Critical Care of the 'Flat Line' Law Enforcement Marriage", in which I will serve as a co-presenter with my colleague, Assistant Chief John Oldham of the Jacksonville Florida Sheriff's Office. More information regarding the session is available at https://bit.ly/2I8RMkM
In an effort to generate a better understanding and first person perspective on this issue, several LE spouses have generously met with me, sharing reflections regarding the "big picture" of LE marriage. In an effort to extend outreach, I've created this brief survey for you and any LE spouses (or LEOs themselves) who might wish to share their thoughts and suggestions.
The survey is completely anonymous and should take no more than 5-7 minutes of your time. Survey feedback may be incorporated into the IACP presentation, as our goals are to generate discussion, create strategies and offer resources based on real world input to attendees and leadership.
My seven years as a chaplain and participation in LE-related programs have opened my eyes to things I would never otherwise have realized regarding the challenges faced by officers and their spouses. In light of this and my chaplaincy mission, I would like to be part of the 'big picture solution' to those who serve us all.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time with questions. I will be happy to share a copy of the results after the IACP conference if requested in a separate email.
Please note, the survey will be open until October 5, 2018. This is a great opportunity to make your voice heard!
Many thanks for your time and consideration!
