Welcome to the NFF Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Survey

The Ombudsman was established on 11 March 2016 under the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman Act 2015. The Ombudsman replaces the previous Australian Small Business Commissioner. Ms Kate Carnell AO is the inaugural Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman.

Her functions under the Act are to:
• Advocate for small business and family enterprises in relation to relevant legislation, policies and practices (the advocacy function);
• To give assistance in relation to relevant actions if requested to do so (the assistance function); and
• To perform any other function conferred on the Ombudsman by any Act or legislative instrument.

The 2017 Review of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman will examine the establishment and operation of the Ombudsman and her office since their commencement on 11 March 2016.

The Review is being led by independent expert Su McCluskey, with the support of a Secretariat provided by Nous Group.

Farmers are an important small business constituency and help to drive Australia's national economic and social prosperity, particularly in regional communities.

The National Farmers' Federation (NFF) needs your help to contribute to the Review. We are seeking the views of the Australian agriculture community, including farmers, as well as elected representatives and policy staff from NFF member organisations. Thie survey is designed to capture your views so that NFF can provide them directly to the Review Panel and the Australian Government.

The views you share as part of the survey will help to directly shape the way advocacy for, and assistance to small businesses is delivered by the Australian Government.

The Survey closes at 5pm on Monday 3 April 2017

Responses are anonymous and confidential and the survey should only take around 5 mins to complete.

Thank you for participating in our survey. Your feedback is important.
