The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission (LVPC) and the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study (LVTS) are updating
FutureLV: The Regional Plan, which encompasses the region's Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Applications can be submitted for
Transportation or
Infrastructure projects. The survey will be open from
August 31, 2026, through
September 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. for the submission of Transportation and Infrastructure project applications.
For transportation projects, any state agency, county, municipality, or infrastructure owner/operator in Lehigh County or Northampton County may submit a project proposal. Other organizations may submit proposals for transportation safety, education and similar programs. Organizations submitting multiple projects will be required to rank the projects in order of need and importance. Counties, municipalities and other infrastructure owner-operators may sponsor projects that involve state-owned roads, bridges and other infrastructure. Any project already listed on the LVTS adopted 2027-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is automatically included in the
FutureLV project list and does not need to be submitted here. However, projects listed beyond the adopted 2027-2030 TIP, but listed in the mid and long ranges of
FutureLV: The Regional Plan (
click to check if needed), will be re-reviewed against current data and priorities. If you have a project listed in the mid or long-range of
FutureLV you will be asked by the LVTS to confirm need and desire to continue developing the project.
Non-Transportation Infrastructure projects can be submitted by municipal or county governments, school districts, or municipal authorities. Non-profit organizations may apply with sponsorship from a local government. All applications must identify the responsible project owner or implementing agency.
ATTENTION: PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO LVPC/LVTS FUNDING LINKED TO NON-TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT SUBMISSIONS. INCLUSION IN THE REGIONAL PLAN IS INTENDED TO HIGHLIGHT THE NEED FOR NON-TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN THE VALLEY CONSISTENT WITH REGIONAL PLANNING GOALS. LISTING IN THE PLAN MAY HELP ELEVATE PROJECTS IN PURSUING FUTURE FUNDING APPLICATIONS THROUGH OTHER IDENTIFIED SOURCES.To assist applicants with completing the application, the
