Welcome to Our Survey

Thank you for your interest in participating in our skillsXchange initiative.

For businesses, it is often difficult to find constructive means to keep employees engaged and motivated in the workplace. Businesses are also under pressure by stakeholders to engage in CSR activities that have real impact in their local community. Skill-based volunteering fills that need and more.

Skill-based volunteering, or skill-sharing, involves using the talents and professional knowledge of employees to help local non-profit organisations. These skills can be immensely valuable for the non-profit, but the experience is also valuable for the business and staff, a win-win partnership for all involved.

Through volunteering, employees can apply their professional skills that will benefit the not-for profit sector, freeing up scarce financial resources that would otherwise be used for professional service fees or consultancy. Employees can also hone known skills by gaining a new perspective in their non-profit work, applying their existing skills in new environments and challenges. Many in the non-profit sector also have valuable skills that could be taught through the skill-sharing process.

Volunteering their professional skills in the skillsXchange, employees can feel more motivated and appreciated on their return to their office. This is especially true when employees receive formal support or time-off, either paid or unpaid, to work at their skill-based volunteer location of choice.
