Leadership Council Bluffs 2026–2027
Leadership Council Bluffs brings emerging leaders face-to-face with the issues, institutions, and people shaping the Council Bluffs community. Through immersive experiences, site visits, and candid conversations with local leaders, participants gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our community while building the knowledge needed to engage as informed civic leaders.
Applications are due May 3, 2026.
Ideal candidates demonstrate a strong interest in the Council Bluffs community, curiosity about the issues shaping our city, and a willingness to collaborate with others who care about its future. Selection is based on leadership potential, civic engagement, and the ability to contribute to a diverse cohort. Only one participant per organization will be selected.
Tuition is $1,600 and is due August 31, 2026.
Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions, including the two-day Opening Retreat, and complete a Community Trustee Project outside of scheduled sessions. A limited number of scholarships may be available after acceptance into the program. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with their employer about potential tuition support before applying.
The program runs September 2026 through June 2027.
Graduates are encouraged to remain involved through the Leadership Council Bluffs Alumni Association, continuing to engage with community initiatives and opportunities that strengthen Council Bluffs. Participation in the program is intended to be the beginning of long-term civic involvement.
