Leadership Council Bluffs is designed to identify and develop potential leaders within our community helping them design and enhance their own leadership style with an emphasis on the community perspective. The program offers a broad-based overview of the economic, civic, and cultural drivers of Council Bluffs, helping leaders to activate their voices and orchestrate transformational change in our community.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
• A desire to contribute both time and energy toward serving the Council Bluffs community.
• Prior volunteer involvement and evidence of leadership experience.
• A desire to work effectively with community leaders and contribute to a cohort of diverse viewpoints and industries representing the Council Bluffs area.
• Professional growth focused on leadership skills.

Selection is based on the above criteria and individual contribution to a cohesive and diverse group profile that represents the Council Bluffs community at-large. No more than one candidate per organization will be selected to participate in each program year. Applications are not a guarantee of acceptance into the program. Applicants will receive notification of acceptance into the program in July.

Upon acceptance into the program, the participants will be responsible for payment of $1,600 tuition fee, which covers all program costs. Chamber must receive tuition by Friday, July 30, 2021. Payment remitted to Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce, 149 W. Broadway, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.

To graduate from the Leadership Council Bluffs program you must commit to the following:
• Attendance is expected at every session. Attendance at the Opening Retreat (2 days) and Closing Retreat is mandatory.
• Full participation in all aspects of the program.
• Completion of a Community Trustee Project. This is an ongoing work commitment beyond the class sessions.
• Following this program, intentions of continuing your service to the community through the Leadership Council Bluffs Alumni Association and through volunteer activities.

Unexcused absenteeism may result in being dropped from the course. NO REFUNDS. Participation is not transferable.  If you are unable to make this regular commitment, it is not in your best interest to apply at this time.
