Information required for registration

This class is open to incoming 5th year students only, i.e. students who will sit the Leaving Certificate exams in 2026. Students may apply if:
  • They attend a school in Ireland,
  • They cannot access Japanese language classes within their own school curriculum,
  • They do not reside in Co. Dublin or Cork city where they can avail of the face-to-face classes offered there by PPLI.
The class is suitable for beginners. Classes will commence if minimum student numbers are achieved. They will be held on online on Saturday mornings.
Classes are funded by the Department of Education. There is no tuition fee for students to attend.

Classes are three hours long and take place on Saturday mornings. Students are required to attend and to have their cameras switched on for the full duration of each class. Three unexplained absences within a term will preclude further participation in the course.
