The Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) Federal Quarantine is expected to cover most, if not all, of San Diego County. AWM is conducting a survey of San Diego agricultural producers that may be affected by the upcoming LBAM quarantine.

To summarize the quarantine requirements:

For nurseries and cut flower growers that ship out of state:

1. All nurseries and cut flower/foliage growers will need to enter into compliance agreements with the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

2. Outside of the 1.5 mile radius of the find site: Nurseries and cut flower/foliage growers will be inspected once and trapped at a density of one trap/five acres biweekly.

3. Within the 1.5 mile find site radius: Growers will also need to follow additional State Interior Quarantine requirements which include more frequent visual inspections.

Growers of other commodities such as fruits and vegetables will have different requirements which will be posted shortly.
