This survey is public input to the vision - the ideals and propositions (policies) of the Ambazonia Independence Manifesto.

This survey is for persons who hail from Ambazonia. Please, do not take it if you do not hail from Ambazonia.

WE, the People of Ambazonia, subjugated by decades of colonialism, subjected to tyranny, impunity and robbed of our homeland by la République du Cameroun for more than half a century, now standing on the Natural Law principles of the Common Good, Solidarity and Subsidiarity, declare our right to total freedom from la République du Cameroun, and now set forth to establish a SOVEREIGN state of Ambazonia that integrates the values and virtues of our existence, reflects our history and geographical context, and embodies our vision for a developed Ambazonian people and the prosperity of humanity.

In completing this survey, you are making your voice count in creating our Ambazonia country. Your input matters, because it is your country. No one can take this opportunity from you! So, dedicate the time to complete this survey. It will take you about one hour to complete this survey. 

Let your input reflect the type of country you want to live in, and will want your children, grandchildren, future generations, friends, etc to live in. So, please, take this survey seriously. The primacy of the family in our existence and the primodiality of the local community in our national development shall not be tempered with;

Ambazonia shall be a national family constituted as a country of free families wherein men and women relate with each other in the public life as responsible people guided by the virtues of hospitality, strong community bonds, freedom, democracy, justice, equality, safety and peace, prosperity, compassion for all its citizens and happiness, and these virtues shall guide the relationship between its people and the rest of humanity;

In the spirit of responsibility, the Ambazonia government shall provide necessary care and assistance to all freedom fighters and other nationals who, in the struggle for the liberation of Ambazonia from colonial rule, domination and oppression by Cameroun have suffered disability and disorders in and from combat and in jails;

THE PEOPLE SHALL GOVERN

Only the people shall have the power to suspend or remove an elected official from power through mechanisms laid down by specific law – no appointed official, head of state or government by whatever name or title, minister or anyone exercising executive office shall have the powers to suspend or dismiss an elected official from office;

No one shall have the powers to suspend or dissolve any of the people’s organs of elected officials – only the courts may issue injunction on an elected organ’s actions if they violate the law;

The tyranny of presidents with absolute powers and the system of prebendal Aristocratic despotism in which peers and clienteles are above the law if they belong to a ruling political party, and that historically characterizes  la République du Cameroun shall never find a soil on which to grow and to reign in Ambazonia;

SIXTH IDEAL:
THE FORM OF THE STATE SHALL BE FEDERAL

The national federal government shall be led in executive service by an elected titular leader shall be called “Prime Father” or “Prime Mother”; each state shall be led in service by an executive Governor elected through direct suffrage by the citizens of that state; each county shall be led in service by a Mayor among Aldermen and Alderwomen all elected directly by citizens of that county; and each district shall be led in service by a District Commissioner elected by district councilors who shall themselves be elected by the citizens of that district;

The legislature of the states shall draw up and adopt the Enabling Statutes (constitution) of their state, sharing and granting some absolute powers to the Counties and the Districts; the legislature of the Counties may adopt Resolutions for the governance of specific matters in their counties, the advancement of democracy, the matters of education, and the provision of public goods and services in accordance with the powers granted to it in the applicable state Enabling Statutes; and the districts may pass Ordinances that address the more specific realities of the Districts and express the will of the residents of the district for their attainment of economic growth, convenience, beauty, safety, order, recreation, health, food security, education, housing, land uses, and general enjoyment of life in the District in accordance with the powers granted to it in the applicable state Enabling Statutes;

The Federal House of States shall consist of equal number of representatives from each state, headed by a Secretary General that shall rotate among the states according to their names in alphabetical order, and the Federal House of States shall have the specialized responsibilities and powers thereto to vet and confirm the appointment of all heads of Federal Departments and their deputies, vet and confirm the appointment of ambassadors, federal judges and other high level government officials; convene national dialogues on national critical issues with or without the recommendation of the Prime Father or Prime Mother, and with the Federal House of Assembly pass binding laws to implement the decisions of the national dialogue; deliberate and vote on the national budget; promote inter-states collaboration and national unity in the development of federalism in Ambazonia; and to hold the Prime Mother or Prime Father accountable;

The highest national institution of justice of the country shall be the Federal Supreme Court headed by a Chief Justice among a panel of Judges; the judges shall be nominated by the Prime Father or Prime Mother and confirmed by the Federal House of States; and the Federal Supreme Court shall have both original and appellate jurisdiction, the power of judicial review over orders of the executive and laws passed by the legislature at all levels of government to ensure conformity with the Federal Constitution, and the responsibility and power to interpret the Constitution of Ambazonia to protect the rights of the people and to guard and shape the development of federalism and the separation of powers;

The independent and apolitical office of the Attorney General, having sub-offices in all levels of government, shall have powers to subject before the judiciary all government officials for their conduct in the discharge of public duties, and shall have the powers to do same to anyone for the protection of the rights of the Ambazonian people - at no financial cost to the victim;

THE SEVENTH IDEAL:
ETHNIC SOCIETIES SHALL BE DISTINCT FROM, BUT COMPLIMENTARY TO THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT

The cultural transmission of valuable traditional knowledge and customs for purposes such as the strengthening of community bonds, and the fostering of human and environmental health, political stability, prowess in arts, economic development and moral aptitude shall be promoted;

The Federal Constitution shall recognize the institution of chieftaincy and its traditional councils as historically established and functioning by customary law and practices;

There shall be a House of Chiefs with its branches at the different levels of government, which shall advise the different branches of government as shall be provided in the Federal Constitution; foster justice; ensure government elections are well organized, modernized and independent; study, interpret and codify customary laws; foster the preservation of the customs and values of our cultures in our national governance; and assess and act to eliminate customary or ethnic cultural practices that are harmful to the people;
