2026 Liesel Krehan Memorial Scholarship

The Liesel Krehan Memorial Scholarship was established by our NJYS member league, the Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer Association. NJYS is proud to continue this scholarship in memory of Liesel Krehan and her many years of dedicated service to youth soccer throughout our state. The funds for this scholarship are donated by MNJYSA.

Liesel Krehan embodied the spirit of youth soccer and volunteerism through her longstanding commitment to NJYS, and the Mid New Jersey Youth Soccer Association. Her passion, leadership, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless players, coaches, and families.

To honor her legacy, two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded annually to deserving high school seniors who exemplify the ideals of self-discipline, responsibility, good citizenship, teamwork, and their individual contribution to their team/club.

All applications, along with a short essay and High School transcript, must be received by December 7th, 2026.

The essay should show the applicant’s commitment to service through volunteering, ideals of self-discipline, responsibility, good citizenship, teamwork, and their individual contribution to their team/club.

Scholarship winners will be chosen by NJYS and notified in December 2026.

Winners will receive an award and be recognized at the 2027 NJYS Awards Celebration presented by RWJ Barnabas Health on February 7th, 2026.
