Application for JPRA
New York, New York
August 30-31, 2017

 APPLICATION INFORMATION

The American Probation and Parole Association, Robert F. Kennedy National Resource Center for Juvenile Justice, and Council of State Governments Justice Center appreciate your interest in the Juvenile Probation Reform Academy (JPRA). As we enter the third year of the JPRA, we’d like to thank the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) for their support towards conducting and funding this event in 2017.

To apply for the Juvenile Probation Reform Academy that will be held on August 30-31, 2017 in New York City, you must respond to ALL of the questions on the following application. Some questions are designed for you to click the appropriate response, while other questions are designed for you to provide a descriptive response via a comments/essay box. Therefore, you may need to gather information to answer some of the questions from other sources.

To maximize what is gained by attending the JPRA, applicants must apply to participate as part of a team from your state, region or local jurisdiction. A primary goal of the JPRA is to educate and equip a team of leaders to return to their jurisdiction and collectively move reforms forward. This happens best when more than one person from a jurisdiction attends the event.  While you must attend as a group, you will only submit one application for your team.  Applications that include 3-4 members will be preferred. Team size is limited to a maximum of 4 members. Please note that someone on the team will need to be designated as the lead team member and will be the primary purpose responsible for completing the application.

You do not have to complete the application in one sitting. To save information you have entered on a page, click the "Next" button at the bottom of each page. To exit the application and come back later, close out your browser window.

Requirements for accessing the application later: To access the application later and update/complete your responses, you must:
1. Use the link you used to access the application.
2. Use the same computer that you started the application on.
3. Have “cookies” enabled on your browser. This is necessary for the application to save your information to be accessed at a later date. If you are unsure about your computer’s settings, please consult your local computer/IT staff.

When you come back to the application later, it should take you back to the point in the application where you left off. At that time, you can use the previous button to access and edit information provided earlier.

If you have more than one person wanting to apply for the program using the same computer: To allow people to save information and access their application later, only one person per computer can complete an application. If you have multiple people within your agency that want to apply and they do not have separate computers from which they can do so, please contact Kelsey Cheek at kcheek@csg.org or 859-244-8236 to discuss alternate application options.

How to submit your final application: To complete the application, you must click the "Done" button on the last page of the application. After you click the “Done” button, you will not be able to return and edit any of your responses.

Application Deadline: Completed applications are due by Friday, May 26, 2017.
You will receive an email from APPA within 72 hours confirming receipt of your completed application.

You will be notified of whether you are selected for the certificate program by June 19. Space in the program is limited.
