Providence City is seeking resident feedback regarding the future of the County Library located in Providence.
Cache County has indicated it may discontinue funding for the library after June 2026. If that occurs, the library could close unless another solution is identified. Providence City is evaluating whether it should become involved in preserving library services for the community, including the possibility of taking over library operations.
No decision has been made.
Before the City Council considers any next steps, we want to hear directly from residents. This survey is intended to gather information about library use, community priorities, and whether residents would support potential funding options to keep library services available in Providence.
Please note: Providence City currently provides the library building, utilities, and maintenance at no cost to the county, approximately a $100,000 annual value. Any greater city involvement would require future City Council action and public budget discussion.
Your responses will help guide the City Council’s decision-making process. The survey should take approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. Individual responses are confidential, and results will be shared in summary form.
Thank you for taking the time to participate and for helping shape the future of library services in Providence.
