Objectives:
  • To help improve knowledge of handling allegations in your organisation or organisations you work with;
  • To understand the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer in managing allegations in Hull and East Riding;
  • To understand the government guidance that underpins the allegation management process;
  • To improve your confidence in handling or raising concerns/allegations;
  • To explore the contributions by the Police, Children’s Services, employer, or community group leaders and regulatory or governing bodies;
  • To understand the process of investigating an allegation and how the matter reaches formal conclusion;
  • To understand when and why a referral to the Disclosures and Barring Service may be appropriate;
  • To consider best practice in creating a culture of responding low-level concerns.

Description:
To develop your role as a confident contributor when handling or managing allegations against people who work in your service or work/volunteer with children within any organisation operating in Hull or East Riding.

Audience:
For volunteers, workers, managers, and leaders who are involved in responding to allegations in respect of colleagues, team members, employees, and volunteers who come into contact with children as part of their role.
