The Weatherby Lake Improvement Company is dedicated to protecting the waters of Weatherby Lake and its watershed .  Educating and encouraging our Membership regarding best practices in lawn care is a priority.  As a potential service provider, we ask that you review and commit to a few best practices as well.  In doing so, we will include your company on the Preferred Vendors List that we promote within our Membership.

* 1. Fertilizers with a phosphorus mix higher than 2 deliver a greater nutrient load that may exacerbate the growth of nuisance vegetation in the lake. Best Practice: Use zero-or-2 or less phosphorus products.

* 2. Excess material such as grass clippings and fertilizer that is left on impervious surfaces like driveways, walkways and roadways can mix with stormwater and wash directly into the lake.  Best Practice #2:  Blow any excess clippings or chemical products back onto turf surfaces.

* 3. Mother Nature will deposit leaves, etc.  into the lake as part of the eco-lifecycle of things. However, our goal is to not add to this un-necessarily.  Best Practice #3: Never intentionally blow or dispose of organic material in the lake.
