FNL Youth Program Advisor Job Application |
Stipend-paying Part-time Positions for 2021-22 School Year. Open until filled.
ATCAA Youth Programs is currently seeking Friday Night Live (FNL) Advisors in Tuolumne County for the 2021-22 school year. Although campus chapters have not yet been set, there will be at least two high school and two middle school chapters and one mentoring program. These positions involve assisting youth and adults on their assigned school site and out in the community.
As FNL is a youth-led leadership program, Advisors will serve as a mentor, guiding chapter members while they generate ideas, plan, execute, and post-assess/review activities and projects they design to help their campus and community. Chapter groups typically meet weekly on campus during lunch break or elective period. We will work with each district to determine the best format for each campus chapter (i.e., in-person, remote or hybrid).
Specifically, Advisors, under the direction of the Youth Programs Director and FNL Coordinator, will promote their chapter on campus; help recruit student participants and subsequently coordinate, develop, and implement all FNL activities in compliance with established FNL Youth Development standards of practice and core components of environmental prevention.
They will act as a liaison between the chapter and the ATCAA Youth Programs Office, parents, school faculty, administrators, and community, and complete an end of year program activity report and feedback form. Advisors must commit for the entire school year and be available to participate in various chapter, school, and community events.
Desired credentials and experience: Associate or Bachelors’ degree in education, health, human services, or a related field; however, work or volunteer experience will be considered. Preferred experience would include two to three years working with youth and families, particularly in substance abuse prevention; experience working with diverse communities.
Advisors' hours will include 20 hours of meetings during the school year; 20 hours of planning time, and 10 hours training/administrative meeting time, totaling 50 hours. Compensation of $1,100 will be provided in the form of a quarterly stipend of $275 (paid upon successful completion of the milestone dates of Sept 30, Dec 31, Mar 31, and June 30).
