Introduction
The more information we have on the scripted podcast industry and the clearer our assessment of writers’ strength within it, the better equipped we will be to protect writers' interests and to establish standards for scripted podcasts. Our aim is to assess strategic options for organizing the industry, and to provide actionable information with which writers can arm themselves when negotiating their deals.
This survey is designed for writers who are waiting for a podcast they wrote to get picked up for another season; who are currently writing a scripted podcast (or are slated to begin writing a scripted podcast in the next few months); and/or who are in the process of developing a scripted podcast. We hope to get a picture of what the industry looks like in this moment, and what it will look like over the next few months.
