Project information and consent

The COVID-19 epidemic has had a vast and varied impact on the Australasian Sonographic Community. In order to guide future policy and guidelines and for your professional associations to be able to best advocate for their members, it is important to capture the impact the COVID-19 epidemic has had on the Australasian Sonographic Community. A research team at the University of South Australia, with financial support from the Australasian Sonographers Association, will be conducting a series of surveys to gather this information.

All funding for this project is to be returned to participants by offering participants the opportunity to go in the draw to win one of 100 $50 EFTPOS vouchers.

The research aims to collect information via a 30 minute survey in regards to your demographics, and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted your work hours, your work duties, your work protocols, your wellbeing and what changes have been made in your workplace to ensure your safety. This is an internet-based survey. Every effort will be made to ensure that responses are confidential. We are using robust and secure survey software and storing data on secure servers.  Whilst every effort will be made to ensure your responses are anonymous, the researcher cannot guarantee the confidentiality or anonymity of material transferred by email or the internet.

At the end of the survey you will be asked whether you choose to supply your email address so that you can be contacted to see if you would like to fill out a similar survey that will be distributed in 6 months’ time and go in the draw to win one of 100 $50 EFTPOS vouchers. This is not compulsory, and you do not have to supply your email if you do not wish to. Your email address is not linked to your survey responses.

The survey will be conducted online, and until exported will be stored on the survey platform. Once downloaded it will be deleted from the survey platform, and stored on a password protected university computer linked to a university server.

There are no foreseeable risks associated with participating in this study, however should you become distressed at any point during the survey it is recommended that you withdraw immediately and seek support from peers, friends or a professional counsellor.

If this survey has raised any distressing thoughts or emotions please contact lifeline at www.lifeline.org.au Phone: 13 11 14.
