In 2019-2020, the Michigan Women's Commission and Governor Gretchen Whitmer held conversations with women around the state to hear what they believe are the most pressing issues they face. Michigan’s women overwhelmingly cited economic security issues as their top concerns – and this was before the pandemic put a glaring spotlight on these issues. Since that time, the Michigan Women’s Commission has worked with Governor Whitmer to advance new programs and resources to support women’s economic recovery from the pandemic and to advance our overall economic security. Watch Commission Chair Muna Jondy and Governor Whitmer discuss these resources at our Women’s Economic Recovery Tour virtual kickoff event.
