This information is collected to help us assess your suitability for the Learning to Lead™ program. Your personal information is treated as confidential by Minerva BC and is collected and managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please note that you cannot save your progress in this application. We encourage you to save your responses in a separate document to ensure you don't lose your work.

As part of your application, you will be asked to respond to the following three questions:
1. Why would you like to participate in Learning to Lead?
2. Tell us about something you care about.
3. Tell us about a time you faced a challenge. How did you respond to it?

You will have the option of providing written responses in the text boxes below, OR submitting a video of yourself sharing these responses verbally. If you choose to submit a video, please use WeTransfer to upload your video and paste the link in the appropriate textbox below. Please note that your video will not be made public and will only be viewed by the selection committee. As part of this application process, you will be required to upload the form letter of support from your nominator (e.g., teacher, coach, guidance counsellor, etc.). Please have this document ready to attach (in a Word or PDF file) before you fill out this application form.

Acceptances will be made on a rolling basis. Get your application in early to save your spot!

• Friday, October 1st: 6-8pm
• Saturday, October 2nd: 9:30am-5:30pm (Optional movie night following)
• Sunday, October 3rd: 9:30am-12pm

Minerva BC welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and creates space for people to share their stories as well as learn from others' stories. Opportunities for conversations about reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people as well as the intersectionality of diversity is an integral part of the Learning to Lead™ program. All participants are asked to enter these conversations with an open and respectful heart and mind.

* 16. If selected for the Minerva Program, you could also be eligible for Shad, an annual event that brings together students from across Canada and internationally to attend a month-long summer program focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & math).

Shad looks for diversity and well-roundedness in Shad participants with an over-arching commitment to excellence. Students with a strong academic foundation, who are natural go-getters, curious about the world, community-minded, creative and engaged are the type that excel at Shad.
