SEGA ONS CHAPTER ELECTION FOR 2024

SEGA ONS is holding Annual election after calling for Nominations at last three Membership meetings and online post to nominate a Member for President Elect,Secretary and other positions of the Board for Directors At Large.

ONS National Requirements:

“Chapter boards will have at least five (5) elected members consisting of a president, treasurer, and three additional roles based on the needs of the Chapter. Any additional roles beyond those five may be elected or appointed at the discretion of the Chapter. Board members cannot serve more than six (6) consecutive years on the Board. The president and treasurer terms are limited to two (2) years each. The president and treasurer could serve the remainder of their six-year term in other board positions. Board members serving in roles other than the president or treasurer may serve all six consecutive years in the same role if re-elected or re-appointed by membership during each voting period.”

Composition of SEGA ONS Board of Directors:

The SEGA ONS Board of Directors shall be composed of at least five (5) members Elected Officers . Officers shall be the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and two (2) Directors At large. Additional members of the Chapter that hold the Chairpersons of the Standing Committees shall be considered additional members of the Board. The Immediate Past President shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors for a period of one (1) year following expiration of the term as President. In this advisory capacity, the Immediate past President may not vote or make motions and does not count in the quorum.

Please select a candidate for the positions as indicated below. No write-ins please, and be sure to save or submit your selections at the end of the ballot. Please have your selections completed by December 4th, 2023 by 5pm.

1.Please select the candidate of your choice to be Secretary for the years 2024 & 2025.
The secretary has the following responsibilities.
~ Provide for continuity of chapter proceedings through record keeping of all official chapter activities.
~ Maintain official chapter records associated with the office of secretary according to procedures and record retention policies established by ONS National. Records include but are not limited to the following (refer to the Archival Guidelines on the ONS Chapter Leaders Community at https://communities.ons.org/chapterleaderscommunity/ for more information):
~ Chapter charter
~ Chapter standing rules
~ Financial reports
~ Annual reports
~ Minutes of all meetings of the board of directors, standing committees (if applicable), and general membership ɐ Implement an effective communication plan among the chapter membership, chapter board of directors, chapter
standing committees (if applicable), and ONS National.
~ Comply with the policies and procedures established by the chapter board of directors and ONS National in reflecting the views of the chapter general membership and board of
directors in all communications, written and verbal.
~ Notify all chapter members about the board of directors’ meeting dates, times, and locations.
~ Notify the general chapter membership of the dates, times, and locations for all meetings and events.
~ Record minutes for all meetings of the chapter board of directors and general membership.
~ Distribute minutes of the board of directors, standing committees, and general membership meetings as requested.
~ Perform other responsibilities designated by the chapter board of directors or ONS National.Length of office term- two (2) years

Sonja Edwards RN, BSN, Oncology Protocol Nurse at LCRP. She serves as a Director at Large on the 2023 SEGA ONS Board.

2.Please select the candidate for President Elect for the year 2024. The president-elect or vice president has the following responsibilities.
~ Actively observe and learn the role of the president.
~ Assume the role of president in the following situations:
~ Absence of the president
~ Inability of the president to act
~ Resignation of the president
~ Expiration of the president’s term
~ Attend meetings of the chapter standing committees as delegated by the president (if applicable).
~ Consult with the president throughout the term of office to provide for continuity and smooth transition of chapter leadership. Perform other responsibilities designated by the chapter board of directors or ONS National.

Lizzie Norton NP for LCRP Gynecology Surgical Center. She currently participates on the 2023 Board of Directors as Director at Large representing the chapter membership.

3.Please select the candidates for the Director At Large Positions. Please select a total of 3.
Directors-at-large represent the general chapter membership
on the board of directors. They perform responsibilities designated
by the chapter board of directors. The Directors-at-Large are elected and shall serve in an advisory capacity on the chapter board. Elected Directors- at-large represent the general chapter membership on the board of directors. They perform responsibilities designated by the chapter.
Length of office term-one (1) year

Allison Monterrozo NP Radiation Oncology at the LCRP Radiation and Cyberknife at SJC in Savannah. After relocating to Savannah from West Virginia, She has been attending and participating in the local SEGAONS Chapter. She looks forward to representing the Chapter membership.

Theresa Wilkins, RN, OCN, works at the LCRP as a nurse navigator, helping patients and families through the difficult journey of cancer diagnosis. She is family-oriented, loves to garden, can be crafty, loves to learn, and loves to figure out how technology options work. She will be excited to represent the Chapter membership.

Dawn Williams, RN, OCN, is an experienced oncology nurse with experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and palliative care. Dawnn works as LCRP Nurse navigator helping patients make the journey from screening to diagnosis and on through to survivorship. She is eager to learn and participate in the Chapter's Board and be a voice for the Membership.

Lisa Thomas RN Has 28 years of Oncology experience in radiation, two years in the inpatient care setting, and is now working in infusion at SJC/Summit offices in Statesboro and Pembroke office. Lisa will be excited to represent the Chapter membership in the Director at Large.
