Keller Ferry - Signage and notification survey |
Share with us how we can make service updates more clear when the ferry is out of service
Welcome to our online survey!
WSDOT discovered a need to improve the consistency of messaging for when Keller Ferry is out of service. Currently, four signs are located on SR 21 for travelers heading southbound out of Republic prior to reaching the Keller Ferry's north landing and there are five signs for travelers on northbound SR 21 out of Wilbur heading toward the south landing site. For maintenance crews to manually deploy "closed" signs, it can take up to 3 hours to complete this causing significant delay for those already in transit traveling to the Keller Ferry.
WSDOT is requesting feedback to determine if changes in signage are necessary to improve and make messaging more consistent and timely for when the ferry goes out of service.
As of today, there is no funding to add additional signage or update the current signage. However based on feedback received, WSDOT may seek funding in the future for sign improvements, with the goal to reduce notification time for users of the Keller Ferry if, and when, the ferry is not running as scheduled.
The survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete.
