The Belleville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Centre for Workforce Development, is pleased to share the following Hidden Job Market survey.

This is an area we’ve wanted to explore for many years to offer a more accurate description of the job market in Belleville (and the greater Quinte Region as the project expands).
We believe Belleville hosts a job market that requires talent beyond the entry-level, unskilled jobs that youth and some parents think are the most common opportunities.
Parents encourage their children to go away.
Kids can’t wait to leave.
Employers seek talent outside the region.
We hope the results of this survey will help foster change in the conversation.

There is a second stage to this project where we hope to have a “Career Fair” type of event that will help youth, parents and jobseekers in general to further understand the diverse types of jobs available in our community and the places where people might find work, locally.
