This questionnaire is about you—your life, your money, your hopes, and your worries about retirement. Not “people like you,” and not “retirees in general.” There are no right or wrong answers and your identity will remain anonymous.

I’m writing a new book about the psychology of retirement: why it can be hard to decide to step back, what to step into, and why even very successful people can struggle to feel content. Over the last thirty years, I’ve seen consistent behavioural patterns around retirement decisions. This questionnaire is designed to test those observations with real data, so the final work offers practical guidance to help people navigate the transition with more understanding, confidence, and satisfaction. Your anonymous responses will be used to strengthen the research and make the guidance more practical and accurate.

The Questionnaire:
It’s open to anyone in Canada or the United States and takes about 15–20 minutes.
Section 1) Demographic questions to understand life stage (planning, nearing, retired, delayed/returned, or spouse/adult child).
Section 2) 60 statements in six sections—rate each statement with 1–5 stars (all required to submit).
Section 3) Optional open-ended questions to provide personal context

Thank you for your valuable contribution.

This anonymous survey supports independent research I’m conducting separate and apart from my dealer firm. It’s for research and educational purposes only—not investment advice. Please don’t include any personal, account, or identifying information.
