Question Title

* 4. Do you use any of the following recreational facilities?

Old Lawrenceburg Road Boat Ramp

The Old Lawrenceburg Boat Ramp, located adjacent to KY 420 provides access to the Kentucky River for public boating enthusiasts on property owned by the Kentucky Finance Cabinet (FAC) (See Figure 1). The boat ramp sits on the west bank of the river, across the river from Capitol View Park, and is operated by the Kentucky River Authority under lease from the FAC. During construction, it is anticipated that a contractor may require a 1.2 acre temporary easement on the west bank adjacent to the boat ramp parking area for use as a laydown yard and equipment staging area. During construction, the area would be expected to be covered with gravel and fenced to prevent unauthorized public access. Minimal grading may also be necessary. Upon completion of construction, the area would be graded, as necessary, gravel removed, and the area-re-seeded to approximate its current condition. The ramp would be used periodically by the contractor for the construction but river access at the ramp would be available to the public throughout the construction period.

Question Title

* 5. How often do you use the boat ramp?

Question Title

* 6. Do you have concerns that your recreational use of the boat ramp would be affected by the temporary use of adjacent land for staging during construction?

Question Title

* 7. Do you have concerns regarding the periodic use of the boat ramp by the contractor during construction?

Capitol View Park Trail System

A system of mountain bike/walking trails exist in Capitol View Park and on the property lying south of KY 676 owned by the Kentucky Finance Cabinet. The trails pass beneath the KY 676 bridge near the bank of the Kentucky River. For public safety, the existing trail connection beneath the eastern approach of the Kentucky River bridge will be closed to recreational traffic during the replacement of the bridge overhead. To minimize the impact and maintain connectivity in the trail system, a new trail connection is proposed that would be constructed along the southern right-of-way limits (See Figure 2). Upon completion, the new trail connection along the southern right-of-way would remain as an enhancement to the trail system.

Question Title

* 8. How often do you use the Capitol View Park walking/biking trail system?

Question Title

* 9. Is your primary interest for walking or mountain biking?

Question Title

* 10. Are you involved in mountain bike racing events that occur on the properties several times each year?

Question Title

* 11. Do you have concerns that your recreational use of the trail system will be affected by the closure of parts of the trail system during construction?

Question Title

* 12. Do you agree that the proposed new permanent trail connection will sufficiently maintain access and connectivity for the trail system?
