Wages, PEBB, and PERS

As we head into bargaining a new contract this spring, we want to hear how you think about total compensation — your wages, healthcare, and retirement benefits. This survey focuses on these priority areas to help us plan for a legislative session that is sure to attack our PERS and PEBB benefits at the same time that we’ll be bargaining around wages and how much we pay toward our healthcare premiums.

A strong union is how we fight to defend our benefits and make sure we move our entire compensations package forward. Our union is stronger when your voice is heard. Please take five minutes to fill out this survey, and help inform the best strategy to approach total compensation in the legislature and in bargaining.

Do you currently pay 3 percent of your monthly healthcare plan costs or 5 percent?

Question Title

* 7. We are not able to bargain with your employer over how your healthcare plan is designed. The Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB) makes those decisions. Fortunately, through our union, we have a voice at PEBB as two SEIU members sit on the Board. Your PEBB representatives can use the following information to ensure that any additional costs have a low impact on your family.

Fortunately, through our union, we have the power to impact the PERS conversation in the legislature and at the bargaining table.
