INFORMED CONSENT

DEAR SOCIAL WORK PRACTITIONER:

You are invited to take part in a study that explores social workers’ views on immigration and immigrants in the United States.

In recent years, immigration has become an important topic in U.S. politics at federal, state and local levels. As social work practitioners we are, as usual, at the frontlines. Little, however, is known about your views. This study is designed to gather this information. We hope to use the data gathered through this survey to aid us in formulating future practice, policy, and educational directions in social work. The survey will take about 15-20 minutes to complete.

ELIGIBILITY

You are eligible to participate in this study if:
  • you have received a BSW and/or MSW degree, AND
  • if your primary employment is as a social worker.
Exclusion from participation
  • For the purposes of this study, faculty or academic appointment, student practicum placements, and volunteer service are NOT considered social work employment.
  • If these roles are your only or primary contact with social work, you are not eligible to participate in this study
