What is the role of an SEO Scholars' Mentor?

Assist with Projects: Enrichment Program applications, college applications, editing/reviewing essays, and building resume and interview skills.
Support Scholars’ Academics: Discuss grades and test scores, provide strategies to improve performance.
Develop Personal Relationship: Cultivate trust and understanding, communicate on a weekly/daily basis via phone or email, set goals together, provide perspective.

What are some of SEO Scholars' expectations of our mentors?

Professional Demeanor (appearance, attitude, etc.).
Consistent Attendance (no more than 1 absence/semester).
Daily/weekly communication with program coordinator and mentee.

What is the commitment?

6 sessions per semester - Fall and Spring (12 total, with the possibility of a 13th celebration session).
Each session will consist of 1-2 hour guided sessions.

I understand SEO's project-based, site-based mentoring model.

I understand that being a mentor involves attending 12-13 one or two-hour supervised, guided sessions with 1-2 assigned mentees.

I understand that I must pass a criminal background check prior to beginning as a mentor.

This application should take 15-20 minutes to complete. As you will be unable to return to an incomplete version, it must be completed in one sitting.
