The WIAA is seeking candidates to present as part of the 2025 WIAA Coaches School. Ideal candidates are experienced speakers qualified to present on one or more of the following WIAA coach education areas:
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    • Anti-racism
    • Discrimination in sport/examining implicit bias
    • Gender equity
    • LGBTQ and gender identity
    • Recognizing and eliminating barriers to participation
  • Psycho/Social Foundations
    • Sociology and psychology of sports
    • Social emotional learning: coaching strategies and procedures
    • Instructional methods in physical education for students with disabilities
    • Mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention
  • Medical aspects of coaching
    • Care and prevention of student injury
    • Athletic training/sports medicine
    • Chemical and substance abuse
  • Legal Aspects of Coaching
    • Litigation and liability
    • Physical education, sports, or athletic law
    • Annual review of rule changes and application of rules
    • School board policies, WIAA rules, school law
    • Bullying, hazing, harassment
The 2024-25 WIAA Coaches School will be a virtual conference specifically geared toward coaches education for WIAA member school personnel. Speakers will be assigned 30- or 60-minute speaking slots depending on the topic. All presentations will be recorded for on-demand viewing.
