Kankakee Valley School Corporation is exploring potential reorganization of the KVSC elementary schools for strengthening learning opportunites, optimizing utilization of school facilities, and reducing student transportation times. The school corporation authorized a feasibility study to examine potential advantages, disadvantages, and roadblocks for reconfiguring the elementary school population and converting the buildings into K-5 configurations. In addition to the feasibility study, the school leadership is soliciting stakeholder input through the use of surveys, presentations at board work sessions, and building-specific staff and parent/community presentations. Proposed reorganization would move the current elementary schools to three K-5 buildings with anticipated opening in the 2029-2030 school year.
