Volunteers are central to the success of voluntary organisations, so creating a safe and supportive environment is essential.

Designed for volunteer managers, coordinators, and anyone responsible for supporting volunteers, this brand new, interactive training will explore how to keep volunteers safe, supported, and engaged, while effectively managing risk and protecting your organisation against claims from volunteers or service users.

Suitable for both experienced volunteer managers and those who are new to the topic, this training will provide practical guidance for organisations of all sizes.

Topics include:
Risk assessing volunteer roles and activities, including lone and remote working
Duty of care and safeguarding responsibilities
Safer recruitment, induction, and support
Volunteer wellbeing and managing boundaries
Responding to concerns, incidents, and challenging situations
Policies and procedures to strengthen safer volunteering practice
The session is highly interactive, giving participants the opportunity to share experiences and learn from colleagues in other local organisations. You will leave with practical tools, increased confidence, and ideas to strengthen volunteer safety and wellbeing within your own organisation.

Priority will be given to voluntary sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents.

Our training programme is funded by the City Bridge Foundation.
· The session is FREE to voluntary sector and public sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents. However, there is a non-attendance charge of £50 and this charge will be invoiced to your organisation if you do not attend without giving 48 hours’ notice. There is no charge incurred if bookings are cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the start of the session.
· The session is FREE to voluntary sector and public sector organisations with a base/office in Tower Hamlets, or that have services aimed at Tower Hamlets residents. · For any organisation without a base or services in Tower Hamlets, or private sector/commercial organisations, the session costs £50 per person. The fee is non-refundable, unless you give 48 hours’ notice of cancellation.
