The northbound span of the I-5 Interstate Bridge is now over 100 years old. It is a vital transportation link that impacts all of the West Coast. Scientists and engineers have concluded that the bridge would not be safe in the event of a magnitude 8 earthquake in the Cascadian Subduction Zone.
