The Kansas Minimum Standards of Design for Water Pollution Control Facilities (Standards) document has been periodically modified by policy memoranda since adoption in 1978.  The Standards have significant impact on the regulated wastewater community in Kansas. It also impacts the professional engineers/engineering firms that design wastewater infrastructure for the regulated community. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is proposing a comprehensive update to the Standards and is seeking input from wastewater professionals to prioritize those portions of the Standards most in need of update.

Please consider completing the following short survey to provide KDHE your input on prioritizing updates to the Standards.  Your input is anonymous unless you wish to share your contact information.  Thanks!

Question Title

* 1. Which of the following best describes your current occupation?

Question Title

* 2. Which of the following best describes your length of experience with wastewater infrastructure?

Question Title

* 3. On a scale from 1 (low priority) to 3 (high priority), please rate the priority for updating the current sections in the KDHE Minimum Standards of Design for Water Pollution Control Facilities

  1 - Low Priority 2 - Medium Priority 3 - High Priority
Facility Plan
Mechanical Biological Treatment

Question Title

* 4. Are there supplemental design standards that need to be added to the KDHE Minimum Standards of Design for Water Pollution Control Facilities?  If so, indicate the topic and the priority for each additional topic using a scale of 1 to 3 with 1= low priority, 2= medium priority, and 3= high priority

  1 - Low Priority 2 - Medium Priority 3 - High Priority
Wastewater Reuse

Question Title

* 5. Would it be sufficient to simply adopt the Ten State Standards as the KDHE Minimum Standards of Design for Water Pollution Control Facilities?

Note
: Ten States Standards means "Recommended Standards for Wastewater Facilities; Policies for the Design, Review, and Approval of Plans and Specifications for Wastewater Collection and Treatment Facilities 2014 Edition, A Report of the Wastewater Committee of the Great Lakes-Upper Mississippi River Board of State and Provincial Public Health and Environmental Managers".

Question Title

* 6. Would you be willing to participate as a member of a review committee for proposed updates to the Minimum Standards of Design for Water Pollution Control Facilities?  As a reviewer you will be provided drafts of updated sections of the Standards to comment on as you choose.
