--must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
--must be enrolled in a UTeach class (or have a degree plan on file with the UTeach advisor).
--may work a maximum of 150 hours per semester.
--may work a maximum of 20 hours per week, but tend to average 10 – 15 hours per week.
--are paid $10 / hour.
--must demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and reliability to the internship sites.
--must follow a professional dress code (using the same guidelines as going on a teach), unless approved otherwise by the site supervisor
POSITION: UTeach Advising Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES: The bulk of the position will be assisting the advisor with office work: filing, creating spreadsheets, sorting documents, and other miscellaneous office tasks. A small but important part of the position will be helping with recruiting efforts, which will include talking about UTeach at Preview Days, manning tables at Activities Fairs, creating flyers, and other activities as they arise.

INTERN QUALITIES: The intern will be handling student files and must be able to use discretion and respect confidentiality. The intern will be doing a lot of filing, sorting, and typing, which will require a meticulous, detail-oriented personality. Recruiting will require a friendly disposition, ability to speak to a crowd, and dependability in conveying accurate information to prospective students.

SCHEDULE: Office duties: Flexible, ideally between Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00, but as late as 7:00 if needed. Average 6-10 hours per week. Recruiting: about once a month an event will fall on a Saturday morning or weekday evening.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATION: Progress in the UTeach program will be taken into account because experience and knowledge about the program will be a beneficial asset to the position.
