Project title: Census of Community-Based Environmental Learning in Maine

This survey is completely voluntary. There are no negative consequences if you don’t want to take it. If you start the survey, you can always change your mind and stop at any time.
What is the purpose of this project?The purpose of this project is to understand the landscape of environmental and outdoor learning programs in Maine. Results will be used to facilitate communication, collaboration, professional development, and outreach services to increase the quality and quantity of outdoor and environmental learning in Maine and to communicate the value of these types of programs for youth. This project is being conducted by Teach ME Outside, a collaborative project of the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance and the Maine Environmental Education Association
What will I do?This survey will ask questions about environmental and outdoor learning programs that you facilitate or that occur at your school or organization for youth from early childhood through high school. It includes questions about the types of programs you offer, how programs are supported, and what needs you have. The survey will take about 20 minutes.

Risks
- Some questions may be personal or upsetting. You can skip them or quit the survey at any time.
- Online data being hacked or intercepted: Anytime you share information online there are risks. We’re using a secure system to collect this data, but we can’t eliminate this risk.
- Breach of confidentiality: There is a chance your data could be seen by someone who shouldn’t have access to it. We’re minimizing this risk in the following ways:
- We’ll store all electronic data on a password-protected, encrypted computer.
- We’ll keep your identifying information separate from your research data, but we will be able to link it to you. We’ll destroy this link after we finish collecting and analyzing the data
Confidentiality and Data Security
The information in this study will only be used in ways that will not reveal who you are. You will not be identified in any publication from this study or in any data files shared with other researchers. Your participation in this study is confidential.
