Title: Team Naturaleza Intern
Location: Wenatchee, Washington
Start Date: As Soon as Possible

Stipend: $12/hour (32+ hours), Lodging is not included.
Eligibility: Grant requires interns to be between the ages of 18-25 and of Latino/Hispanic descent.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00- 5:00 pm (occasional weekends and evenings required)

Position Description: Environment for the Americas (EFTA) invites you to apply for an internship opportunity that will focus on Latino engagement in conservation issues. Knowledge of conservation is not necessary, but a willingness to learn is required and an enthusiasm for nature a must. You will receive all necessary professional training and will gain real life job experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
50%- Project Liaison Duties
• Outreach to Latino families in Chelan County to increase participation in monthly activities.
• Provide general administrative support such as record keeping of weekly reports, scheduling conference calls for TN partners, and other miscellaneous task.
• Work with agency partners and TN trip leaders regularly to coordinate activities.
• Participate in a one-week training (out-of-state).

25%- Social Marketing & Communications
Dissemination of Team Naturaleza’s work through our bilingual (English & Spanish) social media platforms.
• Writing a weekly blog about TN activities, daily social media updates, and managing photos.
• Developing and editing photos and short videos for Internet publication. Assistance with promoting conservation messages in Chelan County.
• Contacting media outlets to raise awareness of Team Naturaleza and nature-based programs and prepare press releases.
• Research potential funders for Team Naturaleza.


25%- Special Event Coordination
Assist with coordination of monthly outdoor activities for Latino youth and families.
• Prepare and distribute flyers;
• Attend local meetings to engage Latino families;
• Assist with marketing strategy to ensure participation from local Latino communities.
• Coordinate involvement of Chelan County environmental education, conservation, and land management agencies and organizations.
• Recruit volunteers to help with Team Naturaleza activities.
• Prepare event reports and complete follow-up with participants and donors.

Required Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong attention to detail.
• KNOWLEDGE OF AND EXPERIENCE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA
• Outgoing and willingness to approach new people and organizations.
• Fluency in English & Spanish.
• High level of cross-cultural communication skills necessary to work with diverse communities across the county.
• Familiarity with local and national Latino-serving organizations.
• Successful completion of college level coursework.
Desired Qualifications:
• Strong computer skills;
• Experience with graphic design or iMovie (or other video editing software);
• Preference for candidates with career interests in natural resources, environmental education and/or a related field.

Schedule: Full-time (32 hours + per week). MUST BE WILLING TO WORK SOME WEEKENDS. Accommodations may be made for applicants who are taking classes.
