Introduction

RVAgreen 2050 is the City of Richmond’s equity-centered climate action and resilience planning initiative, spearheaded by the Office of Sustainability, to:
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions 45% by 2030;
  • achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050; and
  • help the community adapt to the city’s climate impacts of extreme heat, precipitation, and flooding.
RVAgreen 2050 also seeks to address Richmond's historical inequities by centering racial equity, environmental justice, and community priorities.

The Office of Sustainability has released the draft Climate Equity Action Plan 2030, the first of several action plans towards the overarching RVAgreen 2050 goals.

This is the first annual Community Sustainability survey to help inform what equitable climate action and resilience looks like in your neighborhood. This survey is anonymous and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. All respondents who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win one of two air purifiers for your home!
