Boozhoo St. Croix Student,

The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin, Higher Education Program is dedicated to supporting you in achieving your educational and professional goals. To be eligible for the St. Croix Higher Education Scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be an enrolled member of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin by the start of the academic term;
  • Be interested/accepted/enrolled into a progressing degree program at Title IV regionally accredited non-profit institution that is financial aid eligible (subject to approval);
  • Properly file a Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually;
  • Complete the St. Croix Higher Education Scholarship
We advise submitting your application 90 days prior to the start of your term and maintaining regular communication with our office. Supporting documents can be submitted as the documents become available. Students that submit an application by the following timelines will be given priority in processing:
Fall 2026-June 30 for the academic year and Winter/Spring 2027- November.

Itemized Billing Statement (includes your name, school name, term, and breakdown of expenses/charges) Submit once your expenses/charges are posted to your student account
Financial Aid Completion Submit after FAFSA has been completed
Official Transcript- only if previously funded Submit once final grades are posted to close out previously funded ter
Tribal Verification-Preferred Certificate of Indian Blood and/or current St. Croix Tribal ID As soon as possible-required once, except for changes to legal name
Student Rights and Responsibilities

  • I understand the St. Croix Scholarship will not be processed until I submit all required documents. I acknowledge that the funding process may take several weeks and that applying early is in my best interest.
  • I acknowledge financial responsibility for my school fees and charges until the award is processed and sent to the school.
  • I agree that participation in this program is voluntary. As a scholarship recipient, I must meet the scholarships minimum requirements, or may be subject to probation, suspension, and/or financial responsibility.
  • I understand that the St. Croix Education department is not responsible for any impact the scholarship program may have on other funding, including Welfare, Social Security, SSI, Medicare, or grants, scholarships, and fellowships from any source.
  • I hereby acknowledge that I have ready and fully understand the rules, terms, and conditions of the Higher Education Operating Policy and agree to abide by said rules, terms, and conditions of the policy and scholarship.

The Higher Education program is limited, and undergraduate students are prioritized in the event of a funding shortfall. The timing of application submission and required documents may affect award amounts and processing. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit at least 90 days prior to the start of classes to allow adequate time for processing and minimize the risk of reduced award or loss of funding due to limited resources.
