The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications and nominations for our 2026–2027 Board of Directors.
We are excited about the year ahead as we continue working toward the Chamber’s purpose: to strengthen the business community by listening and taking action to create opportunities for collective growth.
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help guide this mission while upholding our core values of dedication, diversity, candor, inclusion, and trust. Directors also play an active role in advancing the Chamber’s four key pillars: governance, membership, community events, and advocacy & policy.
Following updates to our bylaws in the fall of 2023, the process for joining the Board of Directors was revised. Applications and nominations will be accepted from April 27 to May 6, 2026.
Once submissions close, our Nominating Committee—chaired by current Past President Chelsea Besuijen of BNKD & Eyes360—will review all candidates, along with returning board members, to prepare a recommended Slate of Officers. This slate will be presented to the membership for voting at our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The role of the Nominating Committee is to recommend a board that best serves the Chamber and supports our local business community. The committee will consider a broad range of business perspectives, experience, and skill sets, while also making recommendations for the Executive Board and succession planning.
To begin the selection process, we ask each nominee and applicant to complete the following survey. This information will help provide a strong starting point for the committee’s review. Depending on the process, next steps may include an additional questionnaire, an online or in-person interview, and possible reference checks.
