We invite you to take part in this research study because you are undergoing a new clinical faculty orientation at either Villanova University, Worcester State University, Laboure College, University of Southern Indiana, Texas Christian University, New York University, or Lorain County Community College.

Your decision will not be held against you.

Why is this research being done?
The purpose of this research study is to determine: 1) the effect of simulation on clinical nursing faculty’s self-perceived competence in clinical nursing education, 2) the effect of simulation on clinical nursing faculty’s anxiety related to clinical nursing education, 3) clinical nursing faculty’s self-confidence and satisfaction with simulation as a teaching strategy during orientation, 4) clinical nursing faculty’s perceptions about clinical faculty orientation, and 5) clinical nursing faculty’s perceptions about the use of simulation for orientation. 

How long will the research last?
We expect that you will be in this research study for a total of approximately 30-40 minutes; approximately 10-15 minutes before your orientation and approximately 20-25 minutes after your orientation.

How many people will be studied?
We expect about 100-200 people to participate in this research study.
