Dear ISFA Member,

It's time to vote for the prestigious ISFA Awards! The nominees were all submitted by active members of ISFA. Please select the company or individual you feel has best demonstrated their dedication and commitment to the decorative surfacing industry and ISFA. You must be an active ISFA member in good standing to vote.  Award nominees will be recognized, and winners will be announced at the ISFA Annual Conference on Thursday October 25th in Cancun, Mexico.

* 4. The Associate of the Year Award is given to the associate member company that in the past year has best exemplified the role of servicing the needs of fabricator member companies, and who has best supported ISFA in all activities.

Note: GranQuartz was also nominated for its support of ISFA in all its endeavors, including assisting associate members on new products and technologies, and helping fabricator members lower tooling costs. GranQuartz is ineligible because they currently sit on the Board of Directors.

CountertopResource.com
CountertopResource.com works closely with ISFA to regularly disseminate information about its programs and projects. Additionally, the company serves ISFA members and the industry by providing daily news and product updates, as well as articles, editorials and events. It also offers a monthly newsletter to the industry (that generally includes upcoming ISFA events, news and information). And it has a secondary website, GreenSurfaceResource.com, dedicated to green building, which is becoming more important to the future.

Laser Products
Laser Products was the first Company to bring laser measuring to the Countertop Industry, and they are very active in the surfacing industry and ISFA.  They participate in trade shows, conferences and ISFA events. They are dedicated to helping fabricators through advancing technology and providing education and service to all.

Integra Adhesives
Integra Adhesives manufactures and supplies innovative adhesive products for Solid Surface, Quartz, Natural Stone, and Composites.  They provide quality products, and they are known for their color match abilities.  Integra Adhesives is committed to education and being a resource to their users.  They also  consistently support ISFA, its members, and its educational programs to the benefit of the entire industry.

* 5. The ISFA Innovator Award is for the fabricator member firm or individual who goes outside the box and creates a product or system that enhances the life of the fabricator.

The Nominees are:

CREA DIFFUSION (Thierry and Laurent Delles)
Based in France, the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of solid surface, and still does, coming up with unique ways to use it in thermoforming applications, cladding and decorative patterns, as well as getting it places in very high-profile locations such as the Palace of Versailles and the recent exterior application on an entire building in downtown Paris. They are among the top solid surface innovators in the world, never saying “that’s not possible” but rather saying “let’s make that possible” and succeeding!

INDEKO (Rodrigo Velazquez)
Rodrigo Velazquez is the founder of INDEKO, the first surface company in Mexico.  INDEKO has accelerated the standards for its peers through it's commitment to never ending improvement, and its embrace of best practices across all products and surfaces.  In a unique move, INDEKO brought together various ISFA members to create beautiful solid surface installations in 460 rooms in a Playa Mujeres hotel in Cancun. INDEKO has established itself among the best fabricators in the world through professionalism, excellence in fabrication, and ethical business practices.

* 6. The ISFA Envision Award is awarded to the supplier or manufacturer member that excels in creating something imaginative and special for the surfacing industry.

Note: CaraGreen (Jessica McNaughton) was also nominated for this award for her role in the leadership and innovation of the sustainable surfaces movement, but is ineligible as she is a current member of the ISFA Board of Directors.

Park Industries developed and implemented a traveling Digital Stoneworking Expo to help fabricators take their business to the next level.  During these live events, participants learn about new technologies, the  digital fabrication process, metrics for better management, and they are educated through machine demonstrations, fabricator presentations, and shop tours.  These events help fabricators to meet their production and labor demands. 

RouterBitsNow.com
This company has developed very unique router bits, designed for fabricators by a fabricator who understands their needs. The bits developed reduce time spent as well as making solid surface fabrication easier, and they are the leading expert in solid surface bowl bit selections.

Zoller Inc.
ZOLLER  has designed a tool used to measure and preset CNC tooling parameters so that the fabricator can properly measure their CNC tools and dramatically reduce their setup time. A typical job that currently takes 2-3 hours to set up is reduced to 10-15 minutes! The integrated software is also designed to let the customer know when it’s time to change or redress the tool which in turn increases tool life greatly!. This presetting machine called the ZOLLER Smile Pilot 3.0 will enable fabricators to significantly increase their daily production on their CNC equipment.

* 7. The ISFA Fabricator of the Year is awarded to an individual of a fabricator member company that in the past year has best exemplified the ISFA ideals of quality, innovation, character and exemplary service to ISFA and/or the decorative surfacing industry, with overall excellence.

Note: Adam Albee of Counter Culture was nominated for this award,  but  he is not eligible as he is currently a member of the ISFA Board of Directors.

The Nominees are as follows:

Rockin'teriors (Laura Grandlienard)
Rockin'teriors is proud to be a led by women, and they truly live by the ideals of ISFA, focusing on quality and ethics, while also making sure to leave every customer happy.  Rockin'teriors is also committed to eco-friendly fabrication, installation, and materials.  Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, they recently weathered Hurricane Florence, and they will be a vital part of North Carolina's rebuilding.

Interfab (David/Christine Cranke)
Based in the U.K., Interfab has 30 years of experience fabricating solid surface.  Interfab focuses on high-quality output, and amazing thermoforming. Interfab is unique in its focus on retaining  long-term craftsman, and they service 150 satisfied K&B outlets throughout the Country. 

NSMotif (Karen Roe)
NSMotif is proud to be a woman-owned company, focused on a well-trained staff, modern technology, and their offering of multiple materials and quality. President Karen Roe goes out of her way to be part of the surfacing community, and she generously shares her experience for the betterment of others.

Bond Interiors (Saad Moaswes)
Based in the UAE, Bond Interiors works on high-end solid surface projects that expand the boundaries of the material in a growing part of the world. Owner Saad Moaswes is an innovative  leader, insisting on quality beyond reproach.  His commitment to quality assists in promoting the ISFA standards on a world stage.

Carolina Custom Surfaces (Joe/Deborah Duszka)
Carolina Custom Surfaces (CCS) shares information to improve the industry through a variety of associations and groups.  Committed to helping others, this family owned and operated business focuses on creating excellent customer experiences, and investing in their employees. CCS utilizes advanced equipment allowing for  improved quality/output, while offering green products and environmentally-friendly processes as well.

Vermont Solid Surface (Wendell Parish)
Vermont Solid Surface is dedicated to quality products and services, and they are passionate about the solid surface industry. Vermont Solid Surface is a long time member of ISFA, and their dedication to association and it's ideals are shown in every project.

Onslow Stoneworks (Mike Schott)
Onslow Stoneworks under the guidance of Mike Schott, has been fabricating countertops since 1995 upon his return from serving in the United States Marine Corps.  This history of Onslow however dates back to the 1870's in Guardiagrelle, Italy.  Today, Onlow works to place retired or discharged veterans into skilled positions, giving back to deserving community members.

Lincoln Laminating (Bob Weichert)
Lincoln laminating is a long-time ISFA member and only of very few fabricators that have switched their installation vehicle fleet to using alternative energies (natural gas) which is not only economical for the company, but better for the environment. The company has also gone a step further by sharing information about this path to assist others who are interested in following suit.

* 8. The ISFA Hall of Fame Award is awarded to the individual who has, in the course of his/her career, made significant contributions to the decorative surfacing industry, and has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the ideals of ISFA.

Note: Tom Pinske was nominated for this award, but is already in the ISFA Hall of Fame .  He was inducted in 2006. Augie Chavez was also nominated for the ISFA Hall of Fame Award, but he is ineligible as he is a current member of the ISFA Board of Directors.

The nominees are as follows:

Mike Duggan
Mike Duggan was the original founder of ISFA. His drive, intelligence, creativity and hard work were the key elements to founding the organization. Duggan was the original catalyst that brought together the founding members of the association more than 20 years ago and pushed them to work together with him to create ISFA (ISSFA), which has done so many good things for the industry and fabricators over the years.

Chuck Sawyer
Chuck Sawyer, besides being a man of sound and solid core values, has constantly provided advice, recommendations, solutions and innovation to the surfacing industry. Having served in countless roles, his engineering and carpentry background proved to be the basis for much insight and innovation. His tenure in the business as a professional is validated by the breadth of people, fabricators, suppliers, agents, and manufacturers who know of him and universally speak highly of his knowledge, contributions, and character. 

Tony Basilio
Tony Basilio worked as a trainer for DuPont Corian for more than 30 years, much of it as the head trainer. He was the first person from Corian to take the ISFA Solid Surface Total Fabrication Training, and he is directly responsible for the ISFA Solid Surface Standards being accepted by all major solid surface providers as the certification to purchase materials. He is responsible for training generations of solid surface fabricators, who went on to share their skills and build businesses, and also came up with many techniques that are the basis for those still used today.

Russ Berry
Having won several past ISFA Awards, Russ Berry is truly an inspiration to all fabricators. He has repeatedly given of his time and expertise to ISFA and it's members,  and his approach to business, along with his innovative creativity, sets him apart from all others.  Russ' work at ASST has elevated the fabrication community through showcasing solid surface design capability in high-end, and highly visible projects.
