Community colleges in Michigan are funded by property taxes, taxpayer provided state funding, donor funds and tuition. Tuition is already reduced, for merit and needs-based students, by business and private donors through the granting of scholarships. Democrat lawmakers now want to provide a free community college system for everyone. If everyone can go to community college on a taxpayer funded scholarship, maybe business and private donors withdraw their funding and gift that money elsewhere.
