Westport Kiwanis Club College Grant Application 2022

The Westport Kiwanis Club is pleased to offer an opportunity for graduating Staples High School students to apply for a one-time grant to assist with expenses associated with their first year of college.  The committee reviews applications based on financial need, community service, and academic performance.  Qualified applicants must have demonstrated significant public service to the community through quantifiable direct service, including at least one letter of support from the agency or individuals who have benefitted from their service, and have communicated the value of their contribution within their personal statement on the application.   
 
Applicants must also provide transcripts that qualify them for college acceptance and financial documents to certify financial needs.  
 
Please complete this confidential application thoroughly and email supplemental documents to westportkiwanis@gmail.com.  Applications are only complete after supplemental materials are provided.  Please note that you  must meet our deadline of April 15th for consideration.:
 
Student submissions must include:
  • Your personal statement as to why you are applying for assistance. Please include an explanation of extenuating circumstances regarding financial need and reflection on your volunteer/extracurricular experiences. (online form)
