Purpose: This feedback survey is an opportunity to share your thoughts on the upcoming Oct. 19 referendum.
On Sept. 3, AASUA President Kristine Smitka and other campus leaders published an op-ed in the Edmonton Journal outlining the risks the referendum poses to the UofA’s future.
The op-ed noted various potential outcomes if the referendum results launch the legal process towards a binding provincial referendum on separation. These impacts include jeopardizing federal grant funds, risking paid research opportunities for students, losing nationally recognized credentials for professional programs, and decreasing the UofA’s attractiveness for non-permanent residents who would otherwise work or study here.
