KELC Events Volunteer Sign-Up

Volunteer to help us manage amazing events in Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo Experiential Learning Center (KELC Events) is a nonprofit organization that hosts a number of events in the greater Kalamazoo region. We are looking for volunteers to help us implement these events all year. When you sign up to volunteer, we want to make sure that you have fun, learn the power of events, and get connected with your community.

Whether you are a college student volunteering to learn about event dynamics or someone who just loves events, our event team is here to support you and answer any of those questions you have about the events listed here as well as others that we manage.

This form is allows you to sign up to volunteer for one or several events. The dates below are when the events are being hosted. Each event has its own event details, so when you let us know what you want to do, we will follow up with you specific to that event. With over 60 events annually in Kalamazoo, we need help for a variety of tasks.

September 12 Festival Fridays - 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This is a popup festival and bar tenders are needed along with people who will help with entertainment band coordination and announcements from the stage (if you want).

Canadiana Fest- September 20 3:00-11:00 p.m. Serve drinks at three different bars at a festival with live music, great food, and lots of Canadian culture! Bartending experience not required, volunteers must be at least 19 years of age. Multiple shift options are available to best suit your schedule and preferences.

KalamaTopia: November 7 - Outdoors Maker's Mart. Booths are set up across from the Kalamazoo Mall and shoppers can browse while enjoying warm adult beverages in the cold! Volunteer slots are focused on event ambassadors.

Santa's Workshop: November 25 - December 23 - Children have the chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus in Downtown Kalamazoo, tell them their Christmas wishes, and design holiday-themed crafts every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the holiday season. Hours vary, and you can sign up for different dates.

Kalamazoo Holiday Parade: November 22 - As the official kick-off to the holiday season, The Kalamazoo Holiday Parade features 100 units with volunteer positions including staging, carrying balloons, checking in units, monitoring gates, and walking in the parade. Volunteer slots run from 8:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m. in 3 hour shifts.

KDPS Safe Halloween Block Party: October 31st - A spooky block party in Kalamazoo's Edison Neighborhood. Volunteer slots from from 4:00 p.m. to about 8:00 p.m.
