* 3. Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs during the REM phase of sleep and if you experience this, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds to a few minutes. It can be quite scary. Some say they hallucinate too since they’re in the REM state.
