Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Community Survey
Resident of Gloucester County,
The County would like your help in determining goals and a vision for the future of the County Park system. The County is in the process of developing a new Open Space and Recreation Plan, which will be the primary policy document to guide the development of parks, recreation, and open space preservation over the next 10-20 years. The Open Space and Recreation Plan will be used to determine priorities for expenditures of funds, in identifying lands to be potentially be acquired for parks or open space purposes, and ensuring that the County is eligible for State and Federal grant opportunities.
For the purposes of this survey, it is important to note that the County currently operates five parks for the use of its residents: James Atkinson Memorial Park; Greenwich Lake Park; Pitman Golf Course; Scotland Run Park; and Red Bank Battlefield Park. There are many other public park facilities located within the County that are not County Parks, but are owned and/or managed by other entities such as the State of New Jersey, individual municipalities, or non-profit entities. The focus of the County's Open Space and Recreation Plan is on improving their current park system, and identifying areas for potential future expansion if warranted.
The County would like to hear the opinions of as many residents as possible, and is committed to ensuring that the community plays an active role in the development of the Plan. To have your views and opinions considered as a part of the goals and vision for the Open Space and Recreation Plan, please take a few minutes to answer the questions in the survey below.
