Arbortext Content Delivery Priorities

Dear valued customer,

In an effort to improve our solution offering for technical content delivery, the PTC Arbortext Business Unit, would like to conduct a short survey to make sure the voice of our customers and their business needs are taken into consideration in priority, and addressed on our future versions roadmap of PTC Arbortext Content Delivery.

* 1. What capability of Arbortext Content Delivery is currently missing in our offering and mostly disrupting your business?

Bookmaps support – manage and deliver technical content in bookmaps structure.

A bookmap is an industry standard specification of content structure (specialization of a DITA map) and is meant to be used when you intend to publish your documents in a book format.

OpenJDK (i.e. Corretto) support – as cheaper open source alternative for Oracle JDK

Smart Part number (VIN) lookup and Options & Variants automatic set.

Introducing a VIN repository and an option to map between smart Serial Numbers (VINs) and Options&Variants, for VIN decoding and improved in context filtering experience.

“Offline mobile support” Content Delivery on mobile devices, when internet connectivity is not available.

Documents “shopping” - introducing an eCommerce/shopping flow, for technical documentation, similar to Spare Parts.

“Guest users” support – introduces an option for ad-hoc users, that are not pre-registered in the system, to access and view the delivery content or place an order.

GUI utility for customizing dynamic objects (i.e. Shopping Carts, Users, Note, Feedback, and ShoppingParameters) attributes (available in ACD 7.1.4).

E.g. adding company name, shipping and billing addresses to shopping cart page layout.

GUI utility for adding new custom information types and attributes.

E.g. extending Parts-list page with more attribute’s details.
E.g. breaking down “Service Information” type into multiple types such as - Manuals, Reference, Topics, Troubleshooting, etc.
