Provide NASBP information about projects and authorities that are still requiring wet signatures
Dear NASBP Bond Producer,
With government social distancing requirements necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic imposed, the execution of construction and commercial surety bonds with wet ink signatures and embossed corporate seals is no longer practical and jeopardizes individuals' safety as well as the continuation and planning of construction and other work.
Please help NASBP persuade public officials to require acceptance of electronically executed and delivered surety bonds. We have created a brief survey to gather specific examples of situations in which public officials will NOT accept electronic bonding. We request that you provide us this information for contract and commercial surety situations.
NASBP and SFAA will use this information to contact state authorities and procurement officials to convince them to require and to accept electronically executed and delivered bonds, and to waive the notary requirement during the COVID-19 crisis.
NASBP and SFAA are continuing the joint campaign (see press release) urging federal, state, and local officials, without delay, to issue emergency orders regarding acceptance of electronic bonding, and we continue to need specific examples of resistance by state and local public officials to move in the direction of electronic bonding acceptance. The information that you provide through this survey is vital to advancing our advocacy on this front! Thank you for completing this survey.
Cordially,
Mark H. McCallum
NASBP CEO
