The County is updating its long-range comprehensive plan, setting direction for policy, development and investment for the next 20 years. This questionnaire will help us fine-tune the adopted vision, making sure that what the citizens developed in 1999 is still on target. New issues have arisen, though, and your responses here will help us suggest modifications to the vision to address them.

The following questions excerpt sections of the 1999 vision, asking if the excerpts provide good guidance for policy today. There are also several follow-up questions to explore where the vision may need to be updated in response to results from recent public events and workshops. There are 25 questions in all, and the answer format is the same for each. Please feel free to add comments as you wish!

We communicate effectively and openly and work together toward goals identified as being for the common good. We foster a sense of neighborliness, of self-sufficiency, and community pride that has long been a part of our island character.
